Traveling through mathematics we will discover the beauty of mathematics in graphics, paintings, real life objects. Students will create works of art creatively, using mathematical properties, especially geometric. In each subject students should work with paper, pencil, ruler and computer. Younger students will work more with paper, older students can develop products with GeoGebra and Scratch Software.

STEAM activity - Pythagoras' tree at Waldorf High School in Rm Valcea, Romania
We started our STEAM activity - the Pythagorean tree by calculating the necessary cubes in an Excel table. I started from a cube with a side of 28 cm, I calculated and I got 2 cubes with a side of 20 cm, followed by 4 cubes with a side of 14 cm, 8 cubes with a side of 10 cm etc ... After getting the colored sheets, we got to work! I needed pencils, erasers, rulers and scissors! Some measured, drew, some cut, some folded and I had colleagues who did the soldering! I divided the cubes into classes, the 8th graders being the ones who laid the foundation - the first 7 cubes !!! The assembly was done by the 8th grade, based on their skills accumulated in the 4 years of high school, under the close supervision of the 7th graders, who checked that the triangle formed by the 2 squares was rectangular isosceles! There was a lot of work in the team, the necessary skills and abilities were formed both in school and in everyday life! Proud of the result, they put the final product at the entrance to the school for the whole school to enjoy and not only for him !

A journey through knowledge- STEM activity
It all started with exploring the programming of the EV3 robot to try and represent travel graphs within the study of functions. The idea emerged of organising a journey where the classroom would take a different position and students would learn in a natural way. All subjects were involved and questions were created along this journey at the various stopping points where students answered these challenges and learned more about the place visited.
Stop 1: Caniço Santo Antão and Espírito Santo Parish Church
Applicability of Rocks and minerals inside the Church: in the tabernacle, on the floor of the ship and in the arch, in the Baptismal font, in the tiles and in the Clerks' Bench.During this journey of knowledge the students had questions to answer from a variety of subjects, in addition to the lecture given by Paula Suzete Vieira.
Stop 2: Museological Nucleus of Caniço
Permanent exhibition: "From Field to City: A real journey through time, customs and traditions
Stop 3: Garajau-Cristo Rei Partial Nature Reserve
Descent in the cable car to Garajau beach where the volcanic cone was observed. The cone was built on a coastal cliff previously carved in a succession of basaltic spills of the Funchal Formation. At the site we can also see two veins that would have fed the later phases of the eruption.
Final stop : Garajau Gardens Caniço
Class 7.2 organised a Gymkhana for Recycling
The students got to know the geological wealth, the applicability of rocks and minerals, the history and culture of our city and even organised a competition on recycling. This trip allowed them to understand and apply many of the contents worked in class in a natural, spontaneous and meaningful way.
